"Those in America having any doubts that their dead are not neing taken care of can rest at ease, because the government is doing all In it.s power to make these graves what Ihey, should be and to park and beautify the cemeteries themselves. Those who' want to dig up these poor fellows and1 ship them to ihe states .are foolish1 and every officer and soldier thinks the same in this regard. If these, men could be consulted they would prefer to lie fofrever near the battlefields' where Ihey so nobly died for their! country. If you know of anybody who wants' la grave located over here I would be; glad to take care of ihe matter. If! I cannot go myself, I can have somej one whom I know do it. Of course, if Ihe grave is away off in another pari ,of France I can do no more than look it up in ihe directory. If it g any- where in the old battiefront it will be ,an easy matter." Lieut.
