Show MILK ON THE FARM. Milk and milk products should bo more widely used on all our farms during this ueriod of our nation's food shortage, says Prof. A. C. Baer, of the dairy repartment of Oklahoma A. and JL college at Stillwater. Milk and butter but-ter and cottage cheese and other choeso can take the place of meat on the farm. Milk and milk products, he says, are the best human foods known. No substitutes have been found which equal milk, butter and cheese in Its nourishing and growth and ' tissue-building tissue-building qualities as well as in supplying supply-ing onergy. Much skim milk which formerly wont to the feeding of calves, pigs and chickens must now be utilized for human food. Cottage cheeso, which can be made into a variety of most; palatable and nourishing dishes, should be used regularly on every farm. No farm is complete without several milk cows. The national food administration adm-inistration urges all farmers to produce, pro-duce, as far as possible, all the food needed by the family for the year. |
