Show GENERAL TREAT IS DETAILED TO ITALY WASHINGTON, May 31 Orders detailing de-tailing Brigadier-General Charles G Treat to duty in Italy were issued by the war department today. It was said that the orders might be revoked as they are contingent to some extent on the final assignment of Major-General (Leonard Wood, who thoush assigned to command the western department, probably will be transferred at his own request to a divisional camp. General Treat is now in command of the western department with headquarters head-quarters at San Francisco. The exact nature of the duties intended in-tended for General Treat has not been disclosed. Two other generals of the army are already in Italy. Brigadier-General Brigadier-General George H. Scriven, In Rome as military attache, and Major -General I Ebon Swift, heading the special mill-taty mill-taty mission. The fact that General Scriven was recalled from the retired place to take his present detail has led to the supposition that he is to be I relieved by General Treat. |
