Show BRIGHAM CITY NEWS BRIGHAM CITY. July 2. The remains re-mains of William Forsgren, who died at his homo in Ogden Saturday, will be brought to this city for interment Wednesday, Mr. Forsgren was born in this city and resided here until a-bout a-bout twelve years ago when he removed re-moved with his family to Ogden. William Wil-liam Forsgren was the son of Patriarch Patri-arch Peter A. Forsgren, who bore the distinction of being the first convert to Mormonism in all the Scandinavian countries. Mr. Forsgren Is survived by a widow and five- children besides numerous brothers and sisters In this city. The latest early closing regulations just announced by W. F. Jensen, commission com-mission of commercial economy, were put into operation in this city last evening. ev-ening. Promptly at G p. m. all such business houses as were scheduled to close at that hour, such as garages and gasoline stations, closed their doors for the public. At 10 p. m. cafes, confectionery stores, drug stores and tobacco stands were closed, and from all appearances there was not a business "slacker" in Brigham City. On account of being tho most Important Import-ant point between Nevada and Ogden and Logan and Ogden for transcontinental transconti-nental auto tourists, garage men feel that no little hardship will be felt by these people until they become accustomed accus-tomed to the new order of things. However, all local business men will conform strictly to the new rules, they declare. This city is making preparations to give the regimental band, official musical mus-ical organization of the 145th Field Artillery at Camp Kearny, a rousing welcome upon their arrival in this city Friday to give a concert during their tour of the state. No little interest locally centers in the coming of . this band with Its splendid reputation gained in southern California. The boys will be greeted by a packed house In this city, and it is expected that hundreds of persons from outside the city will come hero to hear the boys in concert BRIGHAM CITY, July 3. The following fol-lowing recent enlistments In the service ser-vice from Brigham City have been announced: an-nounced: Lee Ward, formerly connected with the Hadley Auto company, in the engineer en-gineer corps; B. L, Abramson, one of the proprietors of the Toggery, who has not selected tho branch of tho service ser-vice he will enter; Phillip Jeppson, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Jeppson, army, Jeppson being the 16th descendant descen-dant of the late Jeppa Jeppson to enter en-ter the service; Arvil H. Larsen, navy. Mr. Larsen recently returned from a mission to Denmark for the Mormon church, and John West, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. West, enlisted in the engineer corps. n r |
