Show III jL , ! Brigfiam City Society J (Special to the Standard.) 'I BRIGHAM CITY, Dec. 22. In honor of the marriage of Miss Rozllla J. ! Conipton to Royal C. Papcndlck last Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Compton, Comp-ton, parents of the bride, gave a most elegant wedding reception in honor of tho newlyweds upon their return from Salt Lake, where they were married in the temple. Mr. Papendick, who Is H connected with the Moutain States ' Telephone & Telegraph company, came here a short time ago from Denver. Den-ver. After spending a few days in Denver visiting relatives and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Papondick will be at home in Salt Lake City. At the reception recep-tion were present many Ogden friends of the bride nnd bridegroom and of Mr. and Mrs. Compton. Among tho many invited guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. West, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Tyson, Mr. and Mrs. B C. Call. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Ryan. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thorn, IJr. and Mrs. M. G. Griffiths entertained Ha i Friday afternoon in honor of the ID Social Development club and a most pleasant afternoon was spent sewing ! for the soldiers. Musical selections t were rendered. Wright, Mrs. Orion Jensen, Mrs. W. L. Anderson, Mrs. Frank Earl and Mrs. W. H. Griffiths. Grif-fiths. ! Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Horsley were up from Provo Saturday to spend the day visiting W. C. Horsley and family. Young Horsley has joined the colors and left Provo Monday for Florida, where he will -enter training. Lester Facer of Malad spent a few days of the week in this city visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Facer. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Conine of Shelley, Shel-ley, Idaho, spent a few days of the H week In this city visiting Mrs. i Conine's 'parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. ! Forsgren and other relatives. The Battery C girls met Friday I ( evening at the home of Mrs. W. I. Hays and spent a pleasant few hours sewing for the soldiers. Present wore Miss Luolla Fife, Miss Violet Jensen, Miss Etta Facer, Miss Vesta Facer, Miss Sarah Bronson, Miss Mallnda Wright and Mrs. Livingstone. Mr. and Mrs. James Boden and sons, Wendell and Ellis, formerly of this city, spent a few days in this city during the week before department for i California to spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Boden reside at Milner, Idaho. Tho Young Married People's Dancing Danc-ing club has been organized to conduct con-duct a number of dances during the winter to start right after the holidays. holi-days. Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Duffin, who have resided in Logan for the past two or three years, will remove to Ogden the fore part of the year. They are now at their home in this cky to remain over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jensen have gone to New Mexico to spend a few weeks visiting their daughter. Mrs. A. C. Cooley, who was formerly Miss Lucille Jensen. Miss Estello Jensen of Salt Lake was the guest of her parents here a few days before their departure for New Mexico. Mrs. Norman Lee spent a few days early in the week visiting relatives and friends in Farmington. J. D. Call and J. E. Ryan returned Sunday evening from an extended visit to Price, Carbon count'. Clarance E. Smith of Garland wjis a Brigham visitor Saturday. J. E. Fcatherstone of Logan spent a day or two of the week in (his city visiting friends. |
