Show HEAVY BLOWS I FALLON TURKS British, French and Arabs Virtually Vir-tually Unopposed in March Toward Sea. GAINS IN MACEDONIA Bulgaria and Turkey May Retire Re-tire From War Sensational Outcome Forecast. (By The Associated Prca) Moving northward with surprising speed and power in Palestine the Allied Al-lied troops seem to havo dealt the Turks a blow that may shatter their power ln that theater of the war. So far as reports reflect the situation the Turks are completely defeated and the mnrclrof the British, French and Arabs toward tho Sea of Tiberias is virtually unopposed. Tho advance has carried the Allies past the village of Nazareth and they are approaching tho ancient city of Tyre. To the north is Beyrout, -while off to the northwest, 70 miles away, is Damascus. Thcso two cities are important centera in this region of the world and their capture would mean the complete disorganization of tho Turkish machinery of war over a wide area. Rapid Advance In Macedonia Allied armies are still moving rapidly rap-idly over the .hills of southern Macedonia, Mace-donia, where for the past week they have' smashed the Bulgarian resistance resis-tance and swept along at a rate which seems to Indicate that the Bulgarians have been unable to stabilize their lino at any point where defensive war-faro war-faro might be expected. The Serbians Tare now east of the Prllep and moving along tho Cerna valley steadily. To tho east tho French havo reached the Vardar, seemingly with the intention inten-tion of assisting the British nnd Greek armies which aro fighting ln the Lake Dolraru region. Italian units aro now engageo In the battle ln tho Cerna bend district. Sensational Developments Forcast Tresont operations, both In Palestine Pales-tine and Macedonia, may have political politi-cal results far outweighing the military mili-tary objectives that may be gained. There have boon persistent reports that Bulgaria and Turkey are ready to retire , from the war and .the dynastic j situation in Bulgaria is said to be such that, with King Ferdinand virtually retired from active administration, sensational developments may come at any time. British and French Advancing British and French armies are continuing con-tinuing their attack against tho outer defenses of the Ilindenburg line north and south of St. Quentin. Notable In the development on that front during the past couple of days has been tho progress ot the French toward the range of hills to the west of tho Olse river south of SL Quen-I Quen-I tin. At some points they are in control con-trol of ridges which appear to dominate dom-inate long stretches of the valley to tho cast and, in spite of determined counter-attacks by the Germans, they are holding the ground they have won. It would seem that the British have encountered savage resistance north of St. Quentin, after having cut into the Hindenburg position at two points. At present tho British arc fighting hard to hold tho ground they have won in this sector while slowly creeping creep-ing nearer the main German positions along the line running to the west ot Cambrai. Americans in Partial Encounters Along the American-held sectors of the front there have been many pa-troy pa-troy encounters but nothing approaching approach-ing a general action has been fought. The same Is true of the mountain front in Italy. An official report issued is-sued at Vienna indicates that a Czechoslovak Cze-choslovak detachment was annihilated annihilat-ed during a raid by Austrian troops In the Dosho Alto region. 'The snmo statement says that Italian attacks In Albania have been repulsed. French Enlarge Positions PARIS. Sunday.
