Show VICE PRESIDENT i HAS EXPLANATION KANSAS CITY. Mo.. June '21. The Kansas City Star announces that A. P Seested, general manager of the paper! has received a telegram from Vice-President Vice-President Thomas R. Marshall stating that in his speech before the Indiana state convention at Indianapolis he did not accuse Mr. Seested of disloyalty The Star's follows: "In answer to a telegram from A. F e;fJ; general manager, setting forth the facts regarding the correc uon of a flaw in his citizenship Vice-. President Marshall replied today. " 'Richmond. Ind . A. F. Seested, Kansas City Star: Message just received. re-ceived. Did not accuse you or anybody else of disloyalty in discussing what I think unjust criticism of the president's presi-dent's course. I did say you were not a citizen when war was declared, but deny anybody's right to say that I meant thereby to accuse you of disloyalty dis-loyalty for I had no such purpose, "Thomas R. Marshall." |
