Show Deaths and Funerals I COLLINS Mrs. Ellen Collins. wlf of the late Frederick Collins, passed I away this morning at 5 o'clock at tho I home of her daughter. Mrs. Chauncey I Frost, 311 Parry avenue, after one I year's illness. Mrs. Collins was born I in England. May 27, 1S36. and came to I Utah 35 years ago. She is survived I by the following children: William H. I Collins of Ogden; Mrs. Nellie Jennett I of Shelley, Idaho; Mrs. Chauncey I FtobI of Ogden. William T. Collins and George E. Collins of Ogden. Twen- I ty-seven grandchildren and twelve I great grandchildren. Funeral services I will be announced later. I GARNEAU Funeral services, civil war veteran, will be held at 2 o'clock ! I Thursday afternoon in the Kirkendail I chapel. The body will lie in state from I 12 until time of funeral. I .11 I THOMPSON William Thompson, a resident of Wilson Lane, died last night at 11:10 o'clock at his home, from the effects of a paralytic stroke which be suffered on. the first of tho month. He was born in England in j is in and came to this country In 1S56 on the sailing vessel, "Caravan." Ho first stopped in New Jersey, where he spent eome time. From there he went t to Omaha. Neb., and came further west In 1861 with Ed Crelghton's Telegraph company. With otherV of tho band, he helped to haul the wire which Joined 5 the east and west for the first time S with rapid communication He ar- I rived In Salt Lake in 1S61 and went from there to Cache valley the follow- h ing spring, where, with a number of others he made settlements at Wos- S ton and Hyde Park. In the year 1869. j Mr Thompson departed for Nebraska and remained for five years, returning j to Utah and taking up his home In Og-d..n Og-d..n in 1x71 moving to Wilson Lane In 1887 which has been his home ever f since Mr. Thompson was married In i the year 1861 to Miss Annie Shefford, Who died in 1ST I Ho was married tho following year to Miss Jane Wanless.
