Show UTAH'S STATE COUNCIL OF DEFENSE BE! ORGANIZED ' Utah's state council of national defense, de-fense, co-operating with the federal government and with similar bodies m each state, today was organized by Governor Simon Bamberger at ihe capitol and the finance committee was instructed and agreed to raise immediately imme-diately $100,000 for use in farm mobilization. mobi-lization. Before the day is1 out the council will have the money with which to tackle the seed problem, the aim being to furnish seeds for crops of all kinds, wherever needed. Threej important sub-committees were named, as follows: On permanent plan of organization Judge Charles C. Richards, chairman; chair-man; Major Richard W. Young, Adjutant Adju-tant General W. G. Williams, Dr. J. A. Widtsoe and J. H. Lamont. Finance committee Clarence Bamberger, Bam-berger, chairman; W. R. Wallace, H. J. Grant, W. C. Orem, Dr. R. S. Joyce. Seeds committee Dr. E. G. Peterson, Peter-son, president of the Agricultural college, col-lege, chairman; Benjamin Siegel, W. R. Wallace, B. F. Redman. Tho organization committee will report re-port at an early date the permanent plan of organization. Governor Bamberger was requested to report to the war department these appointments and arrangements, and to ask for further instructions.
