Show GERMANS LINE UP IN BOISE PARADE BOISE, Ida., April A. Boise had tho most remarkable patriotic demonstration demonstra-tion in its history tonight when 10,-000 10,-000 persons carrying flags and banners ban-ners marched in parade to show their patriotism and prove Idaho's capital Is solidly behind the president in the crisis with Germany. All civic organizations joined in the demonstration. The large number of German-Americans in tho parade and their enthusiasm was a feature. Many of them led squadrons of citizens and carried American flags. Many banners ban-ners bearing numerous declarations as "We are solidly behind the president," "we stand for the cause of humanity," etc , wero carried. There were squadrons squad-rons of citizens representing tho "spirit of "Gl" and the "spirit of '70 " Others carried American flags, some of which were 150 feet long. Following the parado a mass meeting meet-ing of citizens was held before the state capltol building. The principal address was dolivered by Colonel Thomas R. Hamer of St. Anthony , ono of tho leading orators of Idaho. i |
