KAPLER NAMED CITY PHYSICIAN BY C1ISFME Forty-two election districts for both city and general elections will be necessary ne-cessary in Ogden under tho state laws, since the use of voting machines has been ended by state law. As a result re-sult the commissioners of Ogden and of Weber county have been making preparations for the election equipment equip-ment which must bo ready for the fall municipal primaries and election. An arrangement for the purchase of new equipment, providing for each civic civ-ic corporation paying one-half of the expense, was submittod to tho city commission Monday evening for ratification. rati-fication. It was immediately approved at the request of Commissioner M. L. Jones, Mayor Heywood and Commissioner Commis-sioner Flygaro joined in signing the order. Nearly $1,000 worth of election booths and ballot boxes were embraced em-braced in this one order, which called for 32 folding booths, 64 annexes and 32 non-stuffablc ballot boxes. The new district lines will be decided by tho county in dividing Ogden precinct. Dr. Kanzler Named. Dr. Roinhold Kanzler was appointed appoint-ed by Commissioner Flygare as city physician, to succeed Dr. Walter E. Whalen, resigned. Dr. Kanzler will take office on August 1, his appointment appoint-ment having been confirmed. The commission on report of Mayor Heywood ordered the purchase of an art metal fire-proof cabinet for tho police po-lice station, to cost $229.80, this purchase pur-chase being made under bid from the Bramwell Book and Stationery company. com-pany. Bonds accompanying the Gibbons & Read paving contract and the J. P. O'Neill Construction company application applica-tion for cement contractor's license were approved. Charles S. Rapp was named expert accountant for the annual inspection-of inspection-of the municipal records, under the state laws. The only claims allowed Monday evening ev-ening were $1,126.12 for bond interest and the regular payment for band concerts. |
