Scott and daughter, Teresa, who will be numbered among the June brides, entertained "at a trousseau tea on Thursday last, when thirty friends enjoyed a view of tho pretty dainty things. Friday about fifteen fif-teen moro friends came for the same purpoao, that of seoing and enjoying the hospitality of thiB charming mother moth-er and daughter. A color scheme of yellow was artistically ar-tistically carried out with lovely bunches of tulips and smllax for the tea table. The hostesses were assisted by Mrs. E. C. Olson and Mrs. D. D. Wilson. FROM SALT LAKE. Mrs. Miles Alonzo Romney came up from Salt Lake to spend the week-end with her family. EPISCOPAL GUILD. The Episcopal Guild enjoyed a pleas- ; ant afternoon Monday with Mrs. T. H. Davis of 751 Twenty-fifth street ' Twelve members were present. Tho next meeting of the Guild will be held 1 at the home of Mrs. Fenn on Twenty- ' sixth street, Mondav, tho fourth. ' i RETURNS HOME. Miss Hazel Browning, who has spent some charmed days in Salt Lake, the guest of her brother, Archie, returned re-turned the early part of the week. BIRTHDAYS ARE CELEBRATED. Last evening Mrs. G. O. Bartlett delightfully de-lightfully entertained at her home, 2844 Grant, in honor of Mr. Bartlett, Sr., Mr. G. O. Bartlett, Mr. M. A. Jjames and Master Myron Russell, the occasion being their birthdays. Mrs. Bartlett entertained her guests with very interesting games. Mr. Clarence Jones won first prize. Miss Helen Bartlett gave several pleasing piano selections. At 10 o'clock the hostess served a delicious buffet luncheon. The birthday cakes, three In number, num-ber, were decorated in the national colors col-ors with the candles forming the letters let-ters U. S. A., which made a very beautiful beau-tiful effect At 12 o'clock the guests departed, declaring Mrs. Bartlett a very charming charm-ing and interesting hostess. FOR MISS KATHERINE McKAY An affair of unusual interest was that given Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William McKay when the Ogden stake Sunday school board entertained in honor of Miss Katherlne McKay, whose engagement was recently announced. Miss McKay was presented with a beautiful gift by the stake board, of which she is a member. DINNER Mrs. E. O. Lamb entertained at a dinner Friday evening in honor of Miss Florence Fisher, who leaves next week for San Francisco. RETURNS FROM SCHOOL Hyrum A- Belnap has just returned from Salt Lake City, where he successfully suc-cessfully finished his junior year in the law school of the University of Utah. CAMP J NAMED FOR PIONEER Mrs. Eliza Stevens entertained the Daughters of tho Pioneers, Camp J, at the homo of her daughter, Mrs. W. J. Wilcox, last Thursday, when the hours were delightfully spent reminis-cently reminis-cently of other days. The life of Mrs. Martha Cntchlow was read by Miss Wilcox and it will be interesting to the families of early days to know that Camp J was named for one of the first pioneers, Mrs. Mary Wattis Kay, whose early life was spent in England and who, on learning of the new church, crossed the sea in 1844, later crossing the plains with her husband, William Kay, and one daughter. The afternoon closed with music, in which Mrs. Lester Saville and Miss : Katherlne Murphy, delighted those present. MISS DOUGLAS AND MISS RICH HONORED One of the very loveliest affairs of the week was that given yesterday by Mrs. David Eccles, Mrs. J. Orson Douglas Doug-las and Miss Vivian Douglas, when they were at home from 4 to 6, to bring together friends of Miss Ruth Douglas and Miss Oertel Rich. Assisting and receiving was Mrs. Miles Alonzo Romney. Rom-ney. During these hours the guests were received in tho drawing and music rooms, where the Lillian Thatcher orchestra or-chestra played clever selections from many an opera. At 5 o'clock guests ascended to tho Hall room, to the music of warbling canaries, Imprisoned In the quaintest stylo. The tea table was presided over by Mrs. Marian Banks and it was centered cen-tered with a large cut glass basket of the Marie Antoinette' style, filled with roses of pink. Surrounding this lovely motif were candied rose petals, giving a distinctiveness so seldom seen. The color scheme of the ball room was in king's blue and rose pink. Small tables of the vis-a-vis, so popular popu-lar now, surrounded the large tea table ta-ble and had in tho center of each a pink, candied, full-blown rose candlestick, candle-stick, which held In its center petals a tall old-blue candle. Pink candied rose leaves were laid as if they had Just fallen, over the snowy damask, and they were Interspersed with Dorothy Dor-othy Vernon roses in pink. The Dresden Dres-den effect was perfect, Including the plain pink place cards tied with a tiny bow of blue. At the place of each prospective bride was a set of gold beauty pins, tho "Honoros," Miss Rich and Miss Douglas receiving exquisite stationery with accompanying die. About seventy-fivo guests were bidden. bid-den. Fidelus Club. Tho Fldolus club met Friday evening eve-ning with Evelyn Nelson. Frances Marsh gave a paper on "Katherinj Goodson." Genevievo Allison read a paper on "Velsler" and Mary Fischer also gave a paper on "Frieda Simon." ON MISSION Francis H. Steele, son of Mr. D. S. Steele, left today for New Zealand, where he will serve his church in the missionary field. J"" MRS. M. E. RAWSON ENTERTAINS On Tuesday ovening, May 20, Mrs. M. E. Rawson entertained at her beautiful beau-tiful homo, 2462 Jackson avenue, in honor of Miss Edith Cowles and Hyrum Hy-rum Judkins, who wore married in the Salt Lake temple May 31. Miss Cowles has been stenographer at the Ogden State bank for the past five years. The home was decorated with spring flowers, and the evening was spent in various games The young couple received re-ceived many beauttiful and useful gifts and the hearty congratulations of their many friends.
