Show Republican Primaries State and Congressional Conventions Republican Primaries are hereby called to be held in the several election elec-tion districts of Weber county, Utah, to elect sixty delegates to the Repub lican Sta-te convention, to be held at Ogden City, Utah, August 8, 191G and to elect seventy-four delegates to the Republican congressional- convention conven-tion of the First District, to be held at Ogden City, Utah, August 9, 1916. The delegates to both said conventions conven-tions from those election districts in Weber County, outside of rOgden City, will be elected at MASS PRIMARIES PRI-MARIES to be held Friday, August 4, 191G, at 8 o'clock p. m. The delegates to said State Convention Con-vention from the election districts within Ogden City, will be ELECTED on Wednesday, August 2, 1916, and the delegates to said Congressional Convention from the election districts within Ogden City, will be elected on Friday, August 4, 1916, Jn accordance accord-ance with the following rules: The Committeeman of each election elec-tion district will call the primary to order at 7:30 p. m., whereupon a chairman and a secretary will be selected se-lected by those present. The call, so far as It pertains to the election district, will be read. The polls will be open from 8 until 9 p. m., for the casting of ballots for delegates from such election district to the convention. conven-tion. Every Republican elector residing within the election district shall be deemed to have been nominated for delegate. Every Repjubllcan elector rslding -within the district or any elector who resides within the district dis-trict and will indicate to the judges of the primary that he or she intends to vote the Republican ticket at the approaching election, will be eligible to vote at said primary. Three judges of election will be, appointed jointly by the committeeman committee-man oL the election district and the secretary of the County Central Com,-mittee, Com,-mittee, which judges will act during the time the polls are open. One of the judges will take the name and residence of each voter presenting a, ballot and keep a permanent record ; thereof in a book provided therefor. At 9 o'clock the balloting will cease, except that those present in the room where the primary Is being held and who, if any, have not had an oppor-i tunity to vote, will be permitted to1 vote, whereupon the balloting will be closed and the judges will forthwith at the place where the primary Is held, count the votes and declare the result. The persons receiving the highest number of votes, to the num-1 ber of delegates allotted to the district dis-trict shall be declared the delegates to the convention from said district-In district-In case of a tie vote, each candidate so tied shall be declared elected and be entitled to the proper fractlona I vote as such delegate. The judge-will judge-will forthwith deliver the list of th names and residences of the voters.1 and the ballots to the Secretary of the County Central Committee. The chairman and the secretary of the primary will thereupon issue In duplicate du-plicate credentials for thoBe elected ns delegates from that district, one to be delivered to one of the delegates dele-gates so elected and the other to be forthwith delivered to the secretary of the County Committee. The apportionment of delegates to said State Convention io upon the basis of one delegate for each ninety votes or major fraction thereof, cast for Honorable Reed Smoot for United States Senator, at the general election elec-tion of 1914, and thereunder Weber County Is entitled to sixty delegates. The apportionment of delegates to said Congressional Convention is upon up-on the basis of one delegate ft5r each seventy, or major fraction thereof, otes cast for Honorable Joseph Howell How-ell for Congress, at the general election elec-tion of 1914 and thereunder Weber County Is entitled to sevenpty-four delegates.
