Show DECISION DELAYS THE TAX LISTS OF, THE COUNTY Work of compiling tho new tax lists to conform with the raise In tho levy ordered by the state supreme court in its writ of mandate Issued in connection con-nection with Its decision in tho caso of the Ogden board of education against the Weber county commission, commis-sion, was started In tho office of Harry Har-ry Hales, county clerk and auditor, this morning. Mr. Hales Is being assisted as-sisted in tho direction of the work by L. A. Van Dyke, deputy In tho office. The same corps of workers that began the work of compiling tho lists and preparing the notices for issuance to the taxpayers will continue con-tinue on the unfnished task. The work on the lists was suspended after aft-er the board of education began proceedings, pro-ceedings, which resulted in obtaining for the city school system the additional addi-tional levy. The levy directed by the writ will bo 5,1 mills, -the total levy for tho city now being 20.1 mills as against 18.5 mills which obtained until the removal of the 3.5 mills. As a result of the action of tho court the tax rolls, which were to have been delivered to the treasurer Monday, will not be ready for submission sub-mission to him for at least another week. The same delay will occur In the Issuance of the notices to the taxpayers. |
