Show RESIDENCES ENTERED BY A GIG OF. ROBBERS The residences of A. W. Meek, 2660 Jefferson avenue, George W. Rack-ham, Rack-ham, G51 Twenty-sixth street, W. J. Lindsay, 2G21 Madison avenue, and a rooming house at 663 Twenty-fifth streets, were links in a chain of robberies rob-beries perpetrated last night by, it is thought, a baud of experienced thieves. In each instance, the house was entered by way of the front door and none of the locks were dam aged. From the Rackham residence, the robbers secured $1.25 In cash. A silver watch, ?2 In cash, several checks for small amounts and other ! articles were taken from the Meek residence and R. F. Hardine, a resident resi-dent of the rooming house, lost a gold watch. The robbers attempted to enter the King residence, 2929 Madison avenue, but were heard by members of the family, who, notified the police. While investigating this case, the offlcerr. noticed the front door. of the Lindsay home standing open. They aroused the family and it was found that tne robbers had also visited that residence. The thieves had turned things topsy-turvy in the lower rooms, but nothing of value was missing. |
