Show oo HUGE WORLD'S MERGER OF COPPERS AGAIN RUMORED Rumors continue to como out of i New York that there is brewing a great merger of some of the big cop- j per mines of tho world. They name the Utah Copper, the Chile of South America, and Kennecott of Alaska. These are all so-called Guggenheim companies. Should such a consolidation consolida-tion be effected It would also include the Nevada Consolidated, of which tho Utah Copper owns control, and the Ray Consolidated and Chino Copper would no doubt go in. It is roughly estimated that all these mines would show an aggregate yearly production of upwards of near 500,000,000 pounds, worth 150.000,000. This would make it the biggest producer of copper in the world. At present Anaconda Copper Cop-per takes the lead with approximately 300,000,000 pounds a year. Local people in touch with the situation situa-tion are of the opinion that instead of an attempt to unite under one head mines so different in character and so widely separated, that a more probable prob-able solution of the rumors is that some of the big companies are getting together to control the sale of their immense aggregate production that there might be no unnecessary compe- tition or clashes in the disposal of their products in a common market.
