Show THE SCHOOL ELECTION TOMORROW. Tomorrow the voters of Ogden will endorse or turn out the present board of education. The Issue as made by the board candidates can-didates is the record ol the .-board in refusing to rc-oraploy John M. Mills as superintendent, and rejecting the half-day half-day school, which Mr. Mills tried to put in force. The board members also stand on their demand that fundamentals funda-mentals be part of all courses In. the high school, so the graduates of tho school may be well equipped with a foundation for life's battle, and, If they see fit, may go on and enter college. They also stand on their record as to the financial affairs of the schools. They found the sinking fund gone and the schools heavily in debt, but they are beginning to see daylight in providing pro-viding for the urgent requirements of the schools. The opposition to the board is not well defined, because there Is no common com-mon ground on which the other candidates candi-dates have come before thp public. The men and women who are aspiring aspir-ing are among the most prominont and capable in the city. We have confl- j dence in the judgment of the people of Ogden, and leave the decision in their keeping, feeling that no backward step J" will be taken. |
