WIDTSOE 1 TALKS ON HIS BOOK 1 Dr. John A Widtsoe, president of ! the Utah Agricultural college, addressed ad-dressed about 300 members of the Weber stake priesthood quorums yesterday, yes-terday, giving a treatise on his book Rational Religion," which is being used as a text book this yoar by the Melchl6edek priesthood. In part, he QQ III "Mormonism has always been reasonable rea-sonable and the purpose of this book is to show the gospel as a coherent I system of thought. It is absolutely , simple reasonable and universal in . its application. It deals with man as to his past, present and future, em-pi, em-pi, asizing the life on this earth. "We represent today all that the past has made possible and all that 1 the future promises. The gospel contains con-tains a fev general laws, and these are all that we need to follow. The gospel is a practical thing that can be applied to daily life and made to satisfy all the conditions cf man's life. Man mav find in the gospel, no matter what his occupation or condition con-dition is, the key to his earthly happiness hap-piness "That is the great message that the Latterday Saints' church has to give to the world. In studying the book special stress should be laid upon the great council in heaven, first, whre all the plans were laid for this earth and Its peopling. Second, Sec-ond, the will of man is supreme with relation to man s own life. Third, we eam the right to live here on this , earth through having lived rightlv in a pre-exstunt state Fourth, all men must co-operate and work incessantlv for the good 01 all their fellow men.
