Show RITCHIE WINS WORLD TITLE Welsh Is Outfought and Outpointed Out-pointed in Every Round of Battle. New York, March 10. Willie. Ritchie Rit-chie of San Francisco, former world'w champion lightweight, outfought and outpointed Freddie Welsh of England, the present titleholder. in every round of a fast ten-round bout here tonight. The odds were 7 to 5 on Welsh. All throngh the fight Ritchie did Uie forcing, while Welsh spoiled some of his good work by holding in several sev-eral roundn. Ritchie at no time during the bout gave bis backers any concern He rushed all over the ring, sending lefts and rights to the hesd and body, the body punishment being the more se vere. Welsh docked cloverlv in the opening open-ing round and Ritchie's blows did not seem to have much sting. In the second sec-ond round Ritchie stepped into a hard right uppercut. and while he forced the pace, the Englishman failed to open up. In the third round Ritchie did nearly near-ly all the Tork, his two most telling blows being a right drive over Welsh's heart and a right cross to the jaw.
