AREA IN HISTORY OF THE INDUSTRY It Is reported from the field department depart-ment of the Amalgamated Sugar company com-pany that the planting of 6iigar beeta is proceeding rapidly, every available cirill being us use. Quite a large acreage has been seeded and nearly 500 acres are being: planted each day-There day-There are about 100 drills at work ami each will average five acres a day. The greatest acreage In the history of the Ogden factory has been rnn tracted for and it is possible that a few more acres will be nccoptrd, to accommodate, some of the old beet growers who were late In sending in their contracts. The factory will be taxed to capacity to handle the acreage acre-age already contracted. The seeding for the year will exeppd 950O acres. Representatives of the company will go to Weber valley, which embraces em-braces Morgan and Peterson farm districts dis-tricts tomorrow and to Ogden valley, embracing Eiuntavllle, Eden and Liberty, Lib-erty, w ith a view to making arrange ments for planting beets. About 50 acres will be seeded in the Weber valley district and In the Huntsvillc, Eden and Liberty districts about 300 acres will be cultivated. |
