The Ogden parcel post terminal is now considered one of the most important im-portant in the west, being almost equal in capacity to the one at Los Angeles. The central location of the city with regard to the destern divisions divi-sions of tho R. M. S. made it tho logical logi-cal place for tho coming conference. Chief Clerk Charles Rager of tho Fifth division, with headquarters in Los Angeles, arrived in Ogden this morning from the west and passed tho day with Chief Clerk W. F. Carr of the Eighth division. Tho officials expected ex-pected tomorrow are the superintendents superintend-ents and chief clerks from Omaha, Chicago, Cheyenne and San Francisco and the conference will be held in the local federal building. It Is anticipated that a forco of clerks, double that now working, will be employed at the Ogden parcel post terminal during the holiday season. The regular clerks now number 24 and if the ordinary volume of mail continues to increase as it has in the past few weeks, several additional clerks will be needed for regular service, ser-vice, as well as the augmented force for the holidays. |
