Children born on this day have the augury of success in life These subjects sub-jects of Sagittarius partake of the qualities of Capricorn folk and may be exceedingly versatile. - oo KINDNESS WINS WITH CHILDREN When a child persistently rebels i against the authority of its guardians you may bo sure it Is cither suffer- I Ingr from physical discomfort or Inju dicious management. A little brother and sister I knnw i were once In charge of a nurse who dearly loved the little boy and disliked dis-liked the little girl, who seemed sul len and peevish and resentful of any notice. One day the nurse was sent away. The new nurse "took to" the little girl, and in a short time the Improvement in her whole bearing and character was particularly noticeable. no-ticeable. Children suffer terribly from an atmosphere at-mosphere of blame and fault finding, and from the knowledge that, no matter mat-ter what they do. It wont be right The desire to do right dwindles under un-der such treatment and may even cease altopether. Therefore, all grownups grown-ups should remember to treat all the children kindly. Baby falls, gets a bad bump, and cries piteoush. The experienced I nurse does not "kiss the place to make it well," or show any pity for the child's trouble, for she knows that that would make matters worse. The more she pities the little one the more he Robs. Instead, she hastens has-tens to change his thoughts She carries him to the window to see the cars go by, gives blm his pet picture book, his dearest toy; and the child will often stop 6obbing, though he may be really hurt Then, when the little one Is quiet, she can find out the trouble. This lesson of being able to change one's thoughts is a valuable' one, and one that will stand our sons and daughters in good 6tead all their lives. Nothing helps one more in life than being able to look away from the dark side of things and to make the best- of them, instead of continuing continu-ing to "cry over split milk." COLORED SALADS.
