Show SOCIALISTS ARE AGAINST WAR Mass Meetings to Be Called All Over Country to Enter Strong Protest. New York, Aug. 3 At a meeting today of the officials of the Socialist party of America plans were to be discussed for an anti-military mass meeting in this city and it was expected ex-pected that the national anti-war propaganda proposed by the German language group of the party would be endorsed It has been decided to ask the national headquarters at Chicago Chi-cago to call mass meetings all over the country to protest against war. Louis Tarcai. a leader of the Hun garians, opposed to the Austro-Servi-an war, has telegraphed in behalf of his organization to Samuel Gompers, Rsking him to take measures to allay race feeling among the different nationalities na-tionalities in union of coal miners and other unions The Central Federated union has decided to call on the American Fed eration of Labor to head mass meet ings all over the country to protest against war. |
