Show REPORT OF THE HEALTH1 DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY According to the report of Cltj Sanitary and Health Inspector c.eorge Shorten for the past month health conditions In the city are particularly particu-larly good T wenty-four cases of contagious diseases nre noted and nineteen of thes' are of whooping couch. An unusual feature In connection with the report of deaths, was that six were accidental, four persons being killed in automobile accidents; one was drowned and one was shot. in the sanitary department, there were !'4.t inspect Ions made. 720 notices no-tices served and 10 nuisances abated. Thirty loads ol garbage were destroyed destroy-ed ;ii the city crematory, 141 londs of rubbish and ashes were disposed of at the Cltj dump and 5t dogs, 14 horses. 2 cows and 1 sheep were destroyed de-stroyed at the crematory Included in the list of inspections were 4 res taurahts, 3 bakeries and 3 commission commis-sion houses. In his supplementary report, the sanitary inspector states that the sp. pial deputies appointed to make a sanitation survcv of the city had already al-ready found over 600 residences in the city sewer districts not connected with the sewer They had also found conditions regarding the accumulation accu-mulation of garbage in back yards, vacant lots and alloys very bad. The reason for this is thought to be largely large-ly through a lack of facilities for garbage gar-bage removal, as the people -to the certain knowledge ol the department are unable to secure the services of a garbage wagon or dray when they desire one. |
