CLIVE SHINGLETON IS ELECTROCUTED Salt Lake, Aug 14 Cllve Shingle ton 15 years of age. only child of Mrs .lohn Carroll of this city was accidentally electrocuted yesterday The boy climbed steel tower No. of the Utah Power & Light company, com-pany, between Twelfth and Thlr-teenth Thlr-teenth WeBt on North Temple street He reached the cross-arm of the tower tow-er started to walk across it between the high tension wires. He was suddenly sud-denly enveloped in flames, while his horrified companions gazed upward at him. A second later his charred body hurtled sixty feet to the ground. Together with several companions, the Shingleton boy had been swimming swim-ming in tho Jordnn river After dressing, Clive climbed the tower and met his death. His lower limDs were fearfully burned, but his suffering was of short duration The body was removed to the undertaking parlors par-lors of O Donnell & Co. in the police ambulance. Among the boys who witnessed tho accident were Georgo Brown of 270 West North Temple street, Daniel Cletty of 2,5 West South Temple street, and I S Cook of tho Heron hotel. Word of the tragedy was carried to John Carroll, stepfather of the boy, who works at the Tom Botterlll garage gar-age Mr. Carroll went with the crushing news to his wife at the Hotel Ho-tel Lucid on West South Tempi's street The distress of the mother was touching, and at a late hour last night she was seriously ill. Bert Shingleton, father of Cllve and first husband of Mrs. Carroll, is living liv-ing in Vernal, Utah. Nev.s of the death of his son was telegraphed to him last night. He answered immediately imme-diately saying "Will leave here Saturday Sat-urday morning" Funeral arrangements arrange-ments will probably not be completed until the father arrives. oo With about every nation under tho sun except the United States mixed Dp in war the fellows who handle tho coin are getting some large run for their money, no, yes?
