Show YOUNG Ml RDINED BY THE USE OF Ray Craig was given a hearing this morning In the municipal court on the charge of vagrancy. The complaint com-plaint alleged that the defendant was an able bodied man and had refused to work for a Ihelihood. He plead ed not guilty to the charge yesterday, but this morning changed his plea to guilty. During the hearing it was brought out that the defendant was a morphine mor-phine fiend and In answer to questions ques-tions bv the Judge he said that the last time he used the 'dope' wall nineteen days ago At that time he bought a "pinch" of morphine, he said, from Joe Eastman, paying him 50 cents He al6o said that he became be-came addicted to the habit through petting some of the drug after a, drunken spree and that his main sources sour-ces of supply bad been Joe Eastman and Jack Probst Probst 16 now in jail at Brigham City facing a felony charge. The defendant also made the state ment that he secured a prescription for some morphine from a Dr Crag un at Tremonton He tried to get the prescription filled at Garland, but the druggist there refused to fill It After Af-ter this refusal be returned to Tremonton Tre-monton and secured a supply of the drug from Dr Cragun Further questioning brought out the statement from the defendant that he had been securing money for nearly two years past by passing bad checks which had in each ca6 been taken up bv his parents The last case of this kind took place during the lat ter part of July when he took Jack Prtbst and Joe Eastman to Brigham City In a hired automobile. The trip, ostensibly, was to secure a supply of morphine While In Brigham City he forged a check for $12 60 and gave it to the proprietor of the Booth hotel ho-tel cafe and the latter, becoming suspicious, sus-picious, notified Sheriff Olsen of Box Elder county The sheriff accom panlcd the party back to Ogden and Craig's parents made good the amount of the check.
