Show CHAUTAUQUA BEING AIDED BY LIBERAL SUBSCRIBING Tonight and tomorrow the final se9 sions of the 1914 Chautauqua will be held at Glenwood park and the direc tors of the Utah association have arranged ar-ranged splendid programs for these sessions. Arrangements have been made with the Chicago Glee club, which created such a fine impression yesterday afternoon and evening, for ' that organization to enlarge its program pro-gram to a concert of an hour's duration dura-tion and it is expected that the arrangements ar-rangements will meet with the approval ap-proval of all the patrons. Following the recital. Professor B. R Baumgardt, who has the reputation of being one of the most popular lecturers now before the public, will give his illustrated lecture oh Switzerland." In addition to its attractiveness at-tractiveness from an entertainment point of view, the lecture is also of much educational value. The program for tomorrow will also be exceptionally attractive It will open at 2 p. m. with a prelude by the Chicago Glee club. At 2:30. John C. Kennedy will give hi6 lecture. "The Twentieth Century Socialism." At 4 o'clock. Maud May Babcock will read "The Servant in the House," the drama Immortalized by Forbes-Robertson, the great English actor. This will he followed by a vesper concert by the Chicago Glee club. In the evening, the Glee club will give a prelude and the closing lecture lec-ture will be "An Evening With the Stars," by Professor Baumgardt. Owing to the fact that the Chau tauqua directors have given the local public the best attractions that could be gotten together and that the revenue rev-enue gained through the attendance at the 1914 session has not equalled the expenditures, the directors found it necessary to secure voluntary subscriptions sub-scriptions to cover the deficit. Preceding his lecture last night. Charles H. Plattenburg made an appeal ap-peal to the audience to assist In keeping the Chautauqua alive, that the community should not lose the good derived from It. A fine response was met with and over $200 was sub scribed.
