Show DECREE AGAINST I NEW HAVEN FILED I New York. Oct. 17 The dissolution jf decree asked by the government p against the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad company, was 1 filed in the federal district court here today. I The government's complaint is dls- missed by preliminary agreement in- Jf sofar as It applies to all defendants, I-individual I-individual and corporation, with the It exception of the railroad company it- fj self, the New England Navigation K. company, the Boston Railroad Holding W company, the Providence and Daniel- t son Railway company and the Boston and Maine Railroad company. Trustee Provision. The decree provides for three sets j of trustees, the first to take over the Boston and Maine holdings of the New Haven; the second to take over the trolley line holdings In Connectl- cut and the third to take over the trolle lino holdings In Rhode Island. J These trustees are to act as officers Of the court in carrying out the methods meth-ods provided for the ultimate salo j of the holdings. The decree was filed with the clerk j of the court by Attorney General j Gregory and ber.rs the signature of Federal Judge Mayer. Management of Properties. The three sets of trustees mentioned mention-ed insofar as the Boston and Maine and trolley holdings in Rhode Island and Connecticut are concerned are to manage the properties, subject to the orders of the court, until they are sold. Each set of trustees Is composed com-posed of five men All the remaining defendants, with the exception of the Boston and Maine Railroad company, which is j controlled by the Boston Railroad Holding company are held by the decree de-cree to be combinations in restraint Of trade and to have attempted monopolization mo-nopolization and to be monopolizing trade in violation of the Sherman law. ; Will Take Over Stock. The decree provides that the trus- j tees shall take over the stock of th Boston Railroad Holding company, which owns a majority of the stoclt j of the Boston and Maine RaUroad and shall sell the shares of tne latter company at auction or by private oon-tract oon-tract not earlier than July 1, 1915. i and shall use their best efforts to j complete the sale before January L 1917. The trustees are ordered to complete com-plete the sale of the Connecticut and Rhode Island holdings before July 1, R'19. |
