Show CHICAGO GRAIN Chicago, Aug. 26 Wheat, corn and oats attained new high records tor the crop In the first hour of trading today. Wheat opened one cent up on an advance at Liverpool, Lord Kitchener's Kitchen-er's statement estimating the duration dura-tion of the war at three years, and the bullish sentiment of outsiders attracted at-tracted to tbe market by tho war. In tin irst hour prices made a net gain of 3 to 3 l-2c. or about 20 cents higher than a year ago on the same date. In corn and oats the Influences were the same Corn in the first hour advanced 1 1-4 and oats 1 1-8 to 1 6 8c Provisions were dull and easy, unchanged un-changed to 12 l-2c. lower. Later bids found the wheat market bare of offerings and prices bounded upward. 7 and 8 cents over yesterday. Cosing prices were 5 7-8 to 6 l-4c net higher. Very little grain actual ly changed hands. Corn closed 6trong. 1 3-8c. up Chicago. Aug. 26. Excited by predictions pre-dictions that tbe European war would be long drawn out, the wheat market mar-ket soared today and a half hour before be-fore the close was 7 to 8 cents high er than yesterday's close. December wheat sold at $115 and that for delivery de-livery next May at $1.21 3-8. Very little grain was actually bought and sold. The purchase of 50,000 bushels of May wheat alone was sufficient to advance the price 2 cents near the close.
