FRANK RUSSELL IS INJURED Young Men Were Riding a Motorcycle, en Route Home From Salt Lake When They Ran at Top Speed Into an Automobile Auto-mobile Both Suffer Crushed Legs and Garner Dies at St. Marks' Hospital in Salt Lake. The two young men wero returning from Salt Lake City early last evening even-ing on a motorcycle, whou, at a point In the road near Bountiful, they endeavored en-deavored to pass a wagon that was also proceeding toward Ogden. At the time the boys turned out to go by the wagon, an automobile driven by R. C. Watkins of South Bountiful, reached the same point coming from the north and the motorcyclists crashed at top speed directly into It The impact threw both boys to the ground In front of the auto and they were knocked unconscious As quickly as possible, the automobile automo-bile was stopped and the victims of the accident picked up and taken to a nearby house. Dr. J. L. Woodruff of Bountiful was called and examined exam-ined tho Injured, giving them all the attention possible. He found that the legs of both had been badly crushed, evidently by the fender of the automobile auto-mobile and "that they had received a number of bad bruises In the, meantime, the Salt Lake authorities au-thorities were notified of the accident and the police ambulance was rushed to the scene, with several officers. The boys were placed on stretchers and taken to the St. Marks' hospital, where Garner passed away about 6 o'clock this morning. Two brothers of the dead boy went to Salt Lake early this morning and were expected to return with the body at 4 o'clock this afternoon, which will be taken to the Lindqulst mortuary to await the funeral arrangements. ar-rangements. Walter Garner, the dead man, was a 6on of Philip Gainer of Birch Creek He was 2.'1 years ot' age and had passed his life in Ogden. He graduated from the Weber academy In 1910 and for tho past two or three years had been In the grocery and meat business with his brother.
