Show W. J. PARKER CONFERS WITH FARMERS OF HOOPER W, J. Parker, of the Hooper Canning Can-ning factorv, met with the farmers in that district Ia6t night in the Hooper hall. Several matters relating relat-ing to increasing the acreage of tomatoes, to-matoes, peas and other vegetables and the enlarging of the Hooper factory fac-tory were discussed. Mr Parker addressed ad-dressed the meeting and gave some valuable advice as to the raising of tomatoes of better quality for canning can-ning purposes and as to Increasing the yield per acre. He said that a ware-house would bo added to the Hooper factory and some additional machinery installed early in the spring. 1 It is thought that the meeting will result in much good to both the rarmers and the canning interests as. in addition to Mr. Parker's announcement an-nouncement of the enlargement of the faotory, the farmers expressed a willingness to increase the acreage of tomatoes and other vegetables for canning. |
