Show OIL BELT 111 BE SIT TI YEAR With the coming of spring weather and the gradual disappearance of the heavy snow in Idaho on the northern division of the Orecon Short nonnern division of the Oregon Short Line, the improvements planned will cause work to recommence at once, according ac-cording to general officials of the road. The most Important improvement improve-ment is the Snake River valley belt line of seventy-five miles, upon which construction will be begun as coon as possible. Another work, especially espe-cially important to Idaho and Boise in particular, Is the completion of tho Idaho Northern branch from Emmett north to the Payottc lakes. It Is officially announced that work on this branch will be resumed at once and pushed so that traln3 will be running not later than July 1. It Is even said that should the present mild weather remain, the branch may bo finished by Juno 1, although passenger pas-senger stations and water tanks will not be done by that time. The branch, whon completed, will be 10H miles long and more than thTce-fouxths of tic track has already al-ready been laid and all the grading" done. The branch will open up a rich territory tributary to Boise and will also be important for 1915 when it is expected many tourists will go north to visit the famous Payette hikes. |
