Show HEAVY WORK ON IE STREETS ON THE BENCH I The basement lor the new asphalt plant on South Adams avenue, near the city limits, Is practically completed com-pleted und It is planned by the J. P. O'Neill Construction company to place the machinery' immediately on its arrival, which will be within tht next few days. Three cars of asphalt as-phalt are on hand and other material will be assembled shortly. The steam loader was removed from the grading work on Tw enty -fifth street, between Washington and Adams avenue, today and plated in operation between Madison and Mon roe avenues, Immediately south of Lester park. It is said that all the grading will be done this week and that on Monday morning extensive concreting will begin. The contracting company has begun on the street car roaabed near Harrison Har-rison avenue, and the line from Wash Ingtou to Harrison will be covered by the last of this month Manager O'Neill i-ays all the concrete work will be done by June 1, at which time the placing of asphalt will begin. The city commissioners say that when Twenty fifth street is paved from Wall to Harrison avenue, it will be one of the prettiest and most sub stantial streets In the state It covers cov-ers a distance of about a mile and a half and traverses the busiest part of the city and intersects the best residence section |
