Show BOXING BOUTS TO BE LEGALIZED HarriBburg, PS March 18 Ten-round Ten-round boxing bouts under tbe supervision super-vision of a state athletic board will be legalized in this state if a bill introduced in-troduced in 'he house of representatives representa-tives here last night becomes a law The bill provides for a commission of five members to be appointed by the governor. They would have exclusive ex-clusive control over all boxing and sparring matches. No boxing or sparring spar-ring match or exhibition could be more than ten rounds in length and contestants con-testants would have to wear gloves at least eight ounces in weight. Each club authorized to give sparring spar-ring matches would hnve to be licensed li-censed by the commission and file a bond with the auditor general. For fake boxing a boxer Is disqualified disqual-ified from boxing for six months. A second offense means disqualification for all time in the state. |
