Show IS LAND BUYERS GO TO NEWCASTLE I A large part of Box Older and Weber We-ber county land buyers left last night for New Castle in Iron county to Investigate In-vestigate conditions there with the view of making purchases and estab lishlng their homes In that part of the state This party marks the beginning ol what will probably be one of the most lively land buying campaigns that has ever been known in Utah or the west. All through the winter small partlei have been going to see the Nr . i tie lands twice a week, and In almost et ery case purchases have been made. But with the opening of spring there are Indications of a genuine land ruh toward Southern Utah, New Castle being the objective point In arranging the party for last night. Mr. H II Monson. who is the general agent for these lands in Northern Utah, was obliged to hold back many who wanted to go and make their selections early in order that those who did go could be taken car of properly. Those who were held back will take advantage of the next excursion which leaves nex. Tuesday evening, and already a crowd sufficiently large has been arranged for that date At New Castle two automobiles are at the service of the homeseekers to convey them from the station at Bor yl to New Castle hotel, and from there out over the land, and during the next two months they will be taxed to their utmost capacity, and it may be necessary nec-essary at times to use teams to take care of part of those who are arranging arrang-ing to go there to find land. Every' party returning from New Castle during the winter has expressed express-ed themselves as being delighted with the climate there, and nothing has prevented their getting ovor the land at any time, and making such Investigations Investi-gations as have proven satisfactory to them Those who have taken the trouble to go back into the mountains to Investigate the water supply, have found that they could not go far on account of the Immense depth of snow that has fallen In the mountains, and even the most skeptical have turned hack, satisfied that all of the claims of tho New Castle Land company In j regard to the water supply can and j will be carried out j Tho cause for the rush that seems I to have begun Is no doubt tho fad I that spring has evidently come at New Castle A report from there states j that last week one of the dry' farm settlers adjacent to tho New Castle U Irrigated tract, railed sixty acres of 1 sago brush preparatory to plowing, which the report says can be begun at almost any time now In fact, j many of the dry farmers are prepur- ' Ing for plowing now, and purchasers on the New Castle tract hk e begun I to ship their goods and outfits prepar- atory to putting their lands under cul- 1 tlvation this spring, j A Box Elder county man went to J Iron county about a month ago to in- vestlgate these lands, and before re- .1 turning home, he took the time to vis- it all the other projects that are on j tho market In Utah at the present time. After spending a couple of weeks In doing so. he has Just lntel ; .!, returned with the verdict that there j Is no comparison between New Castle I . and any other project that is now on 1 the market, and as a result he has I chosen New Castle as the place to In I vest his money Another man from Davis county, af ter hunting for a suitable location for land Investment in every slate in the west, was induced to go to New (::a-'tle (::a-'tle with the result that he made his 'total land investment there Some of the best men in Utah are at the head of this project and while they do not make any extravagant I promises, they have prepared themselves them-selves fully to live up to every promise prom-ise that they do make. As a result, 'everyone who sees the project Is sat 'lsfled on account of finding It better than they had been led to believe, and for satisfied purchasers New Castle Cas-tle will no doubt be able to show ;i bolter record than any other land pro Iject in the west Purchasers return ing from there are usually so enthin ed that they are unable to express themselves or give any satisfactory description of what they have Been and Invariably say that it will have tc be seen to be appreciated Its location with regard to Los Angeles, An-geles, which will no doubt become the principal shipping point on the western west-ern coast when the Panama canal I. finished, makes New Ca6tle the most favorable market location in Utah, Also, tho Iron mountains, which are located only 15 miles away, will mean a great deal for Southern Utah in the near future. It Is conceded by those who know that the Iron mountains in Utah will supply tho whole coun try. If not the whole world, with Iron and steel In the not distant future So that while southern Utah has suffered In the past for want of railroad facll ltles, it promises to become one of the leading sections of the state, Indus trlally as well as from an agricultural standpoint. Lots for residence and business purposes are now being offered for aale in the Now Castle townsite by Mr II. M Monson. "The Land Man.' whose office Is In th.- foerv Building, 4.11 (Jlronl Tli. K,,oUe. - ' tunities offered at New Castle rri without a parallel in tho weBt, and any one who wants to start in a new country and grow with the country, will find here some of the most at tractive oponings that any new coun try baa ever offered. Special inducements induce-ments are also offered for bulldinc homes at New Castle before the clotie of this year, the particulars of which will be furnished by Mr Monson on application. Any one who is thinking of investing invest-ing In farm lands on this tract should also see Mr Monson at once and arrange ar-range for a place in one of the crowds that, will be leaving for New Castle every Tuesday and Friday evening, as It seems from the number that have lndicnted a desire to go and see these lands thai it will be necessary to make arrangements ahead in order to get a place In one of the parties going. go-ing. The best locations will no doubt be selected first, so that arrangements should be made at once No doubt the entire New Castle tract will bo sold by April first, and when It is all gone one of the best opportunities for land Investment that has ever been offered In the west will have passed Into history and It Is doubtful If there will over be such another an-other opportunity In the future. |
