Show ilu it T fd DOL n N A D A NEWS OLD HUMBOLDT DESCRIBED AS A BUSY CAMP mines developed and sold for fancy prices and rich prospects discovered jack allen alien of bf humboldt nev has the following to say to this paper pager very little has been said about this district yet old humboldt is a busy camp and every day something so new is found the great strike on the imlah con soli dated owned by salt lake and osden ogden parties is evidence of the richness 0 of f th tho 0 d district IS tr IC t some of their rock runs 20 a pound and is ig as rich as any ever found in the state they have found che t ne main vein and it runs about total value across it which is about eight feet IV G adamson a mining man ot of large experience Is putting on a force of men on a group of claims called the del monie and tile the humboldt chief is waiting for a car of machinery to arrive there chefe is another group of claims owned by goldfield men represented here by their superintendent J L craft doing a great deal of work joining the imlay is theli the Happy appy tom group on which a great deal of work Is also being done don chere Is a largo quantity of fine rock on tho the dump and tho the superintendent Is pre preparing arang to go down on stringers that a tunnel of feet fact will crosscut cross cut at a depth of nearly feet this property like the imlay is owned by ogden and nevada men neither of these properties closed down luring during the hard times some fancy prices have been P paid for properties in the past two months mr johnson a mineralogist representing an aukland syndicate Is at tho the humboldt looking over different properties of mr Ne Nes lons one group of which mr alf neslon has sold tor for mr johnson is greatly enthused over th the showing ng in the district it is believed this is the coming camp for a great number of properties have been taken up by mining men from all over the country and an d a good many leases have been given in the last month it is rumored here that sidney bamberger and a few other salt lake men have taken up lip the old arizona mines that were abi abandoned idon d I 1 in the early after they had paid great dividends in those earl early days they did not go down dawn very lop deop in this part of the state stafe so like a good many others they bave gave up tip the mines when the water began to bother them mining alining men think that by huntr running ing a drift below the old works they would not only drain the shafts but they would be able to retake the vein for a long timo time it has bar been known that cinnabar exists in this district and a good deal of prospecting has been done trying to find it it is bellev ed they have it in eldorado canyon four miles west of humboldt station on the main line of tahe southern pac pacific 1 fic tho the strike was made on the imlay little was heard of this place though there were a few who had faith in it and they backed up tip their judgment by world working ng their claims they are now receiving their reward in seeing ili the camp grow up lip all around them they are being offered fancy prices for their holdings |
