Show MEETING OF COUNCIL The regular session of the city couucil met lat Monday ni;lit July 3 1905. In the absence of the ma) or, Councilman J. II. Salmon presided. Roll call showing a quorum preient. The tegular order of business was postj)oiicd until the next meeting to be held Wednesday evening July 5,1905. Pursuant to the Maor ordeis, Engineer Kelsey was here and definate arguments were made to secure his service to carry out the lilcc-trie lilcc-trie light plant. He explained his best m-thod for the city to persue in this line of business As soon ns the plant and specification specifi-cation are ready the work or construction will begiu tit once. A committee was named to meet with Mr. Kelsey at Salt 1 Lake.the forepart of next weckto look over the estimate of machinery mach-inery and see to placing theordcr for such as will require the 1 . most time to get same here when 1 needed. The committee while at Salt hake will look up a mar-kct mar-kct for the Bonds. Council then adjourned. WKDNKSDAY KVIWINC. The council met in adjourned session Wednesday evening with Mayor Croft in the chair. Prayer by G. G. Keddon. Hills to the amount of about $350 were rend aud ordered paid. The city marshal's reports was f lead and accepted, - iurfiit- Section's reports read and referred re-ferred to auditing committee. Treasurer's reports read and referred to auditing committee, Recorders report read and by I motion referred to the auditing X committee. G. G. Reddon was allowed rebate re-bate on license of 1.50. on account ac-count of going out of business. Uy motion $13.35 was appropriated appro-priated as the city's share, being one fourth of total cost of of cement walk in front of Co-op grocery department. A communication was received from A. S. Chamberlain, making application for position of electrician, elec-trician, was read and placed on file. Committee on'celebratiou from the Coalville, Grass Creek and Kast Coalvillo Suuday school asked for the use of the park for July 24. The same was granted. Council adjourned FOURTH CELEBRATED IN GOOD STYLE The Fourth in Coalville was appropriately- celebrated aud visitors from many parts of the state came here to spend the Natal day. The firing of cannons and cracker crack-er heralded the breaking of day during which "Old Glory" was raised. Shortly after tfac baud struck up some very lively airs and kept music in the air until about 8 o'clock a. 111. The people began assembling at the park early in the forenoon where an ainaturc game of ball was on which attracted quite a crowd while others hied themselves them-selves oft" to sonic shady noon in the park- A children's dance was given in the pavilion in the afternoon which was very much enjoyed by the little folks. The game of ball between Iloytsville and the Nationals of of Park City resulted in a victory to the former by the score of n to 2. The Hoytsville boys were in their usually good trim while the pitcher of the Nationals was batted all over the diamond. At the begining of the fifth the Nationals changed pitchers and Irom then on they began playing play-ing ball, resulting in a shut-out for Hoytsville from the sixth to the ninth. Foot racing, horse racing aud 'many other Kinds' of sports wound up the day's pleasure. Dances in the pavilion and opera house at night drew the crowds of dancers. A good time is reported at both places. Uanager Calderwood and the bsse ball boys are entitled to a good deal of praise in the way things were carried 011 at the park. They worked untiring aad unceasingly to See that everybody enjoyed themselves. The baud was a big feature in making the day one of pleasure pleas-ure for all and they were in their best playing from early morning till late in the evening. even-ing.
