| Show THEY ARE CARED FOR AT THE CITY JAIL head of the family said to havo deserted the wife and babies from seattle mrs neallo puller journeyed with her husband lewis puller to roy where he it is claimed deserted her and left her without money to care for two small children refused aid by the county mrs puller appealed to the city and was given quarters at the city jail where she is i now awaiting an answer to a letter she sent to salt lake in the hope of I 1 intercepting the flight of her husband the case Is one of unusual action the bullers pullers started from seattle sunday and arched at roy wednesday puller met his brother whom mrs puller asserts induced him to run away without warning his wife he ift suddenly wednesday evening for parts unknown and although he knew his wife was destitute and his children hungry he left them no money to provide tor their support until he could find employment unknown penniless and with her two children crying tor food she made her way to ogden thursday and petitioned titio ned the county through the poor commissioner for relief she was informed that the county could do nothing but send her on to salt lake or back to portland she was so dis heartened that she went to the city jail as a last resort and told her story to the officers there she was permitted to remain and was glien all the luxuries the jail affords the proper authorities are investigating the case but it has not been determined what to do with the woman and her babies |
