Jewelry Salesman Robbed of $45,000 In Gems in S. L. Six bandits Tuesday robbed W. C H. Brown, New York salesman, of $46,000 in gems near the Ziona Savings Sav-ings Bank and Trust Company fat Salt Lake. As Brown came up the street carrying carry-ing two small bags containing the Jewels, one of the bandits called "Hello Brownie." Before Brown could turn around two men pressed pistols against his side and moved him over to the curb to a waiting automobile. Pushing him inside, dark goggles were placed on his eyes and later a bandage was placed over his mouth and strapped on with adhesive tape. The automobile drove east on South Temple to Dry Canyon, Can-yon, near the Fort Douglas reservation,' reserva-tion,' where they tied him to a post supporting a toboggan slide and left him. Dr. A. L. Leonard and Attorney H. P, Thomas, who happened to be in the vicinity of the canyon trying out some guns preparatory to going hunting, hunt-ing, heard Brown's muffled cries and released him.
