UNSANITARY JARBER SHOP new statute works like a charm in st george all right when the statute governing the running barber shops in this state was enacted it was doubted by some friends of the measure whether Us provisions could be carried out in any places the larger cities but the measures were intended to regulate every phase 0 tonsorial business in every public shop and the men responsible for the framing of the law as well as the members of the board entrusted with its execution were firmly of the opinion that in hamlets and towns in populous centers the statute could be enforced and beneficial results follow the latter view of the matter has been vindicated on more than one occasion the latest instance being the case of a st george barber word wag sent to the secretary of the board that a barber shop and shoe shop combined were being conducted in a ten toot square frame building in the county seat of washington county the premises were declared by an inspector to be cleanly enough for a shoe shop but far too unsanitary for a barber shop an order was sent by the board directing the proprietor to close his place of business until receiving further instruction the next word that came to the board from the local inspector was to the effect that the barber had taken the advice and forthwith opened up anew in a building and under conditions that offered no room tor adverse criticism
