an oar after rowing for four miles with the shells lapped and the graceful prows zigzagging strokes the yale boat crossed the finish line three quarters of a length ahead of the crimson yale won by 21 2 seconds the time was 2 and Harv ards was 2236 such a race has never before been rowed id the twenty seven years of racing between old rivals the ells vent to the starting flag confident of an easy
