at 10 today to select delegates to abo state and congressional conventions for the purpose of selecting delegates to the national convention in bt louis failed to become even temporarily organized at a late hour tonight this delay was duo to a factional contest for control and the determination of mrs W H kistler the county chairman to stick to her rulings in spite of the howling of ward heelers and bulldozing tactics of some of the delegates to gain their points it has been developed that senator teller will be sent to st louis at the head of a delegation composed 0 loca followers of his opinions and that senator wolcott will not be of that delegation his friends now ask only that a vote of censure bo not pissed this action is almost a unanimous demand of the members ot the party and will be taken to prevent the defeat of the local of both county and state next fall ane contest today is waged for local control in both county and state organizations and is extremely bitter the lady who is chairman of the county committee has ruled against a party rule relating to the making up of a temporary roll of delegates as prepared by the county central committee both in the meetings of the committee and in the opening of the county convention her position being that the rule in question is wrong and unjust and should not egand though a large majority oi the county committee voted against her an appeal from her decision in the corn was carried this morning and the contest over a similar appeal in the preliminary work of the county convention was still on at a late hour tonight the roll call of uncontested delegates resulted in sustaining the appeal from the decision of mrs kistler chairman and the delegates proceeded to effect the temporary organization by placing J H shattuck in the chair top position committees were named and a recess taken until 10 tomorrow morning the gang wins and mayor me murrays Mur rays following known as the anti combine is defeated ALL
