Show UNION MEN dissatisfied CHICAGO machinists SLAY AGAIN QUIT WORK chicago april 9 the union machinists ts of chicago who recently went back to work after a strike extending several weeks may again walk out unless differences existing between them and their employers are speedily settled the machinists claim that many of their number have been unable to secure their old positions which have been filled with nonunion non union men am that several firms have refused to recognize the agreement between the international ter metal association and the machinists whereby the strikers were to be taken tack and the differences as to hours of work and rates of wages were to be settled by a board of arbitration tra tion unless this agreement Is lived up to the men declare they will again walk out and tie up every machine shop in the city STRIKERS BACK AT WORK indianapolis ind april 9 the men employed in the building trades in indianapolis di were at work today the union carpenters and the contractors came to an agreement saturday night the men are to receive thirty cents an hour for eight hours work and halt pay tor overtime and double pay tor work done on holidays it is agreed further that the employed emp loyes shall not be compelled to work on sundays or on labor day unless it is absolutely necessary the journeymen and the master plumbers association reached an agreement saturday night under which first class plumbers are to receive 21 a week and second class men 1650 for ty seven hours is to constitute a weeks work |
