Show TAYLOR OBJECTS WANTS TO KNOW MORE TN REGARD TO GOEDEL LAW frankfort ky feb 7 it is stated on excellent authority that governor taylor has decided not to sign the louisville agreement in its present abade he desires several changes in it and particularly a definite statement regarding the repeal of the goebel law lie la anxious that a conference be held in louisville on freday night at which theae changes shall be discussed and made the conference to bo held hero tonight is for the purpose of informing the republican leaders of hia views and advising alth them regarding the further demands to be made upon the democracy governor taylor refused to discuss tho questions when asked it the foregoing was true london ky feb 7 A rumor became current early today that a mess ago had been received baying governor taylor had signed the conference agreement and tho london legislature will be recalled sen jolly sent the following telegram to the chief executive this morning discouraging reports here tho members are unanimously against agreement imperative to know condition at once this telegram was soon followed by another to governor taylor from representative kelday which read as follows make no compromise of our rights under the constitution and the law we represent the people of this commonwealth mon wealth tor a tree election and a fair count any attempt on the part of any man or any set of men to set aside the result of the last election by force fraud or vicious legislation without the consent of tho people is treason we therefore pledge you our support and lives it you will but stand by the election returns as counted by tho electoral commission all members agree to this no additional members arrived on early trains at 9 the bar guards marched from the barracks to the seminary campus to man until the legislature assembled at noon |
