Show MATTSON SELECTS OFFICEJJEPUTIES T. L. Holman has been named as chief deputy in the office of the secretary sec-retary of state, to take the position January 1 next. Announcement of his appointment to this position was made yesterday by Secretary of State-elect David Mattson. Other deputies in the office of the new secretary of state will be M. E. Karichner Jr. of Provo and Miss Carolyn Car-olyn Williams and Miss Selma C Stanford of Salt Lake. These appointments will complete the office force of the new secretary of state with the exception of one or two stenographers who will be temporarily employed during the session ses-sion of the state legislature. Mr. Holman, the new chief deputy, depu-ty, has been prominent in Republican Republic-an pouitics for the past four years. He Is at present a member of the state legislature, having been elected elect-ed in 1909 and re-elected in 1911. Mr. Kartchner is the present county coun-ty clerk of Utah county. (He has been county clcrek of that county for the past four years and was not a candidate can-didate for re-election at the recent election. Miss Williams is the only member of the office staff of Secretary of State C. S. Tlngey who will bo retained retain-ed by Mr. Mattson. Miss Williams has been In the office of the secretary of state for several years and is regarded regard-ed as one of the most valued and competent employes of the department. depart-ment. Miss Stanford is a daughter of S. A. Stanford. She Is at present a stenographer ste-nographer in the office of W. R. Hutchinson, where she has been employed em-ployed for the past five years. She comes to the office of the secretary of state highly recommended. nn |
