Emmett, chairman of a 'committee that some time ugo petitioned the commissioners to tako up tho matter of remedying certain conditions on Lincoln nvenuo. south of Twenty-fifth street, regarding the manner ol operating cars over tho Bamberger road, was referred to tho committee of the whole this morning. morn-ing. In his communication Mr Emmett stated that the petitioners considered that tholr appeal for help had not beon given duo consideration and he desired desir-ed to know when the matter was to receive attention. It will bo recalled that the property owners of Lincoln avenuo claimed in their petition for a redress of wrongs, I that tho Bamberger cars were being operated in such a way as to endanger life and. also that they were disturbed at night because of the "Jerking, rumo-ling rumo-ling noise of the cars" due to the low joints in the roadbed |
