Show STAKER HAS TO SERVE 10 DAYS Because he made an inalnuatlon In ' j regard to the character of a woman ! j who passed by him on Washington j avenue, Lilllen Staker, a car repairer, who claims that he has lived in Ogden Og-den all his days, was sentenced today in police I'Ourt to serve ten days In jail and then paj a fine of $25 or serve an -additional 25 days. The conviction was made on a chaige of using obscene language. Staker was talking ith a maul named Brown, Sunday afternoon, and while they Tcre standlnz on Washington Wash-ington avenue a young woman went past In company with a gentleman Accordinp to the testimony Staker turned to Brown and, In a laughing way, made a slighting remark in regard re-gard to the ? oman. The things he .said are positively unmentionable, and he did not denv them when confronted confront-ed with the charge It seems that the Mr. Brown In question knew the young woman and resented the remarks re-marks because he turned to Staker and demanded that he go to ,the police po-lice station Staker was taken in by the officers, and the judge found him guilty, as stated. |
