Show How Radio Is Affected " During Thunderstorms The weather bureau, although without with-out facilities of Its own for conducting conduct-ing Investigations In this field, has cooperated co-operated in various ways with other agencies also Interested In conditions affecting wireless telephony. As a result of work done by Nebraska Wesleyan university based on thunderstorm thun-derstorm reports furnished by tha weather bureau, the investigators reached the conclusion that there Is no relation between barometric pressure pres-sure and audibility, and that conditions condi-tions at the sending station do not Influence the audibility at a distant receiving station. High static frequency, fre-quency, high static audibility and a near-by thunderstorm area, however, tend to reduce the audibility at tha receiving station. Scientific American. |
