Show OPEN FORUM AT I THE EPISCOPAL I GUILD-HALL I The evening service at the church H of tho Good Shepherd (Episcopal) will IH be resumed Sunday, October G, at 4:30 IH p m In addition to this service, H which will bo held every Sunday at M this hour, there will pe a special H meeting in the iuld hall of the parish H houso at 8 p. m. These meetings aro M to bu in the nature of an open fornnx for tlie presentation and discussion oC topics which are of vital interest to IH the community. H In many of" the large cities today tliero is felt to be a need for such an H Institution. Chicago has its "Sunday iH Night Club," Boston its "People's l Commons," which are addressed by H men and women who are specialists H in their lino of work. H Dr. E. G. Gowans of tho State In- M dustrial school will be the speaker October G. Bishop Spalding will IH speak October 1!J on "Tne Church and H the Workingmon." Prof. F. M. Driggs H of the State Deaf and Blind school H will demonstrate tho work of his in- H stitution on October 20 and the new H principle of the Ogden High school, H Prof. Peterson, will be the speaker H on October 27, his subject being "Tho H American High School." H Amon? those who will address these H meetings at later date aro Prof Peter- H son of the University of Utah, Mrs. H Jennings, matron of the Salt Lake H High school: State Superintendent H Nelson, Judge Howell. Prof. Marshall H of the University of Utah, and Super- H Intendcnt J. M. Mills of the Ogden IH city schools. IH The subjects to be discussed are of H vital interest to the community IH The plan for the meetings was IH formulated by tho Rev. William W l Fleetwood, who has been commended H by many of our leading men and wo- H The meetings are to be non-secta- H rian in character, and arc open to all H who are interested. It is hoped that H some sort of permanent organization H may he effected, in order that tho H meetings may be carried on through- H out the fall and winter months H |
