Show YOUNG MM MEETS DEATH UNDER MS Sajt Lake, Jan. 24. Thomas Reeves, nged 1" years, son of Moses Reoves' 4 McDonald court, was instantly' in-stantly' killed and his body terrihly mangled as the result of falling under un-der the whcols of a rapidly moving, southbound Denvor & Rio Grande freight train on Seventeenth South street, at 6.45 o'clock last evening. Fragments of the body of the young man were strewn for a considerable distance along the railroad track. Accompanied Ac-companied by Charles and John Sam-uelson, Sam-uelson, aged 1C and 18 years, sons of A. Samuelson,.a teamster for the Central Cen-tral Coal & Coke company, residing at 437 West Sixth South street, young Reeves was walking along the railroad track, bound for Riverton, where the voung men Intended spending the night with relatives. The accident occurred about 100 feet south of Seventeenth South street. The young men had been discussing dis-cussing the adsabillty of catching a southbound freight train and riding as far as Riverton. Finally a southbound south-bound train came In sight. The three youths were walking In the space between be-tween the double tracks. An instant before the train was upon them young Reeves was heard to shout: "I'm not going to catch that train." The Sam-uelBon Sam-uelBon boys ran from the track, but looking back, they saw the body of their comrade disappear under tho speeding train. The train was brought to a stop as soon as possible, but the body of tho young man had already been torn into in-to pieces. The accident was investigated investi-gated by Charles Holm, justice of the peace and acting coroner at Murray. It will not be decided until this morning morn-ing whether or not an Inquest will be hold. The body Is at the Banks undertaking undertak-ing establishment at Murray. Arrangements Ar-rangements for tho funeral have not been made. |
